Press X To Push Dancers Off Stage

“Press X To Push Dancers Off Stage” invites visitors to experience closeness and distance, social dynamics, and shared experiences in various VR-based dance constellations—with or without glasses, in the middle of the action or on the sidelines, in the same room and yet not in the same place.

In an interactive format between installation, laboratory, and performance, visitors move through choreographic miniatures in which physical and virtual spaces intertwine—where virtual sculptures and real bodies show each other new paths and open up unfamiliar perspectives.

With a series of public, performative labs, VR Dance Club takes up central questions from earlier mixed reality performances such as “I Spy With My Little Eye,” “Beautiful Connection,” and “Hybrid Encounters” – for example: How close can I be to someone I cannot see? How does shared presence feel in virtual space? And what happens when a glance, a gesture—or the push of a button—is enough to change everything?
